Marine Invertebrates of Guana Island This site is part of a three-year study funded through the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County by grants from the National Science Foundation Biotic Surveys and Inventories Program and the Falconwood Corporation. The project is intended to survey the hidden invertebrate animals (cryptofauna) in the shallow Caribbean waters around Guana Island. Goals of the project are to find and describe new species, record images of live animals, preserve animals for both morphological and molecular study, provide a web-based identification and resource guide, and aid education and conservation efforts in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).
