Pennsylvania Gap Analysis Project
Gap analysis is a scientific method for identifying the degree to which native animal species and natural communities are represented in our present-day mix of conservation lands. Those species and communities not adequately represented in the existing network of conservation lands constitute conservation 'gaps'. The purpose of GAP is to provide broad geographic information on the status of ordinary species (those not threatened with extinction or naturally rare) and their habitats in order to provide land managers, planners, scientists, and policy makers with the information they need to make better-informed decisions

Priorities for Conserving Global Species Richness and Endemism
This report was originally prepared by the World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC) in June 1994 under contract to the Overseas Development Administration (ODA), UK. The task assigned to WCMC, with particular reference to the Convention on Biological Diversity, was: to discuss priorities for the conservation of global biological diversity, to assess what policies would be required, to suggest where the Convention and its financial mechanism should focus their efforts, and with what results - WCMC Biodiversity Series (MS-Word document)

Quebec Biodiversity Atlas
based on data held by the Centre de donnees sur le patrimoine naturel du Quebec (CDPNQ), this (pdf) atlas provides an overview of existing knowledge on Quebec's threatened or vulnerable species, discusses related conservation efforts to date and identifies biodiversity conservation priorities (hot spots)
