Bycatch of marine turtles in UK and Irish waters
Bycatch records of marine turtles are examined from the waters surrounding the UK and Eire. The primary sources of data for this region are records held in the database TURTLE (Pierpoint and Penrose 1999). Additional data have been gathered from marine mammal and discard monitoring programmes. Fishery interactions in other regions are reviewed and mitigation measures taken to reduce bycatch are also discussed - JNCC Report

CalCOFI (California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigation)
The CalCOFI program is a group of scientists & technicians at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Coastal Fisheries Resources Division of the Southwest Fisheries Science Center (NOAA / NMFS ), and the Calif. Dept. of Fish & Game who conduct quarterly cruises off California. Established in 1949, this time-series monitors the physics, chemistry, biology, and meteorology of the California Current ecosystem. Long term time-series, such as the CalCOFI and SIO Shore Station programs, provide a foundation for scientists to measure climatological changes. CalCOFI hydrographic & plankton data are distributed to the community for use without restriction.
