Zoobank-list
A proposal to establish ZooBank, an open-access, mandatory registration system for descriptions of all new taxa and nomenclatural acts in animal taxonomy, is to be published. This paper, by 27 currently active zoologists from a variety of backgrounds, argues for the establishment of a registration system for new zoological taxa and nomenclatural acts. This dedicated discussion list has been established in order to allow potential contributors and users to air their views on this subject and to reach a consensus in the zoological community on the issue of registration
