Project on Human Development in Chicago Neighborhoods (PHDCN): Short Michigan Alcohol Screening Test, Wave 2, 1997-2000

The data files contain information regarding the primary caregiver's use of alcohol. Respondents were asked a series of questions relating to use of alcohol and problems caused by alcohol use. For example, the PCs were asked if they considered themselves to be a normal drinker, whether their friends or relatives considered them to be a normal drinker, whether their drinking ever created problems with a partner, parent, or other close relative, whether they had ever gone to anyone for help about their drinking, or whether they had ever been arrested because of drunken behavior.
