This study collected demographic data for 201 nations and political entities worldwide. Variables include population for each year between 1950-1975, plus the figures for birth, death, and growth rates in 1975.

This data collection contains two files of world military expenditures and arms trade data for the period 1964-1973. Part 1 is an extension of WORLD MILITARY EXPENDITURES TIME SERIES, 1961-1970 (ICPSR 5031), for the period 1963-1973. In this file, data are provided for military expenditures, gross national product (GNP), arms trade, population, and the armed forces size. Data on arms imports and arms exports are given in both current and constant dollars. Part 2 provides information for 136 countries on the total current dollar value of arms imported between 1964 and 1973.

This study includes data collected between 1970-1974 by 21 national centers of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), from a total of approximately 250,000 students, 50,000 teachers, and 10,000 schools in 19 different countries. Students were tested on their achievement in six subject areas: science, reading comprehension, literature, civic education, and French and English as foreign languages.

The Swedish Election Study, 1960, was conducted by the Institute of Political Science, the University of Goteborg, Sweden, as part of a political behavior research program that studied Riksdag (parliamentary) elections in the period 1956-1970. This study carried out an electorate survey in two stages with two different subsamples. Respondents in Subsample A were interviewed before the election, and were asked to complete a short mail-in questionnaire after the election. Subsample B was only interviewed in the weeks immediately following the election.

This dataset was created primarily for teaching purposes, enabling students to replicate original analyses but also to explore the usefulness of alternative modes of analysis or to test alternative hypotheses. The data were collected from a representative sample of the Swedish electorate at the time of the 1964 Riksdag election in Sweden. Variables ascertained the respondents' voting behavior, party affiliation, and interest in politics.

This study surveyed primary and secondary school teachers in Belgium, Great Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, using the same questionnaire across all countries. France has 350 respondents, Norway 400, Germany 365, Sweden 443, the Netherlands 400, Belgium 400, and England 400.

The International Social Survey Program (ISSP) is an ongoing program of crossnational collaboration. Formed in 1983, the group develops topical modules dealing with important areas of social science as supplements to regular national surveys.
