Other than halite diagenesis and organic matter degradation, Cl- and Br- are considered to be conservative in marine pore fluids. Consequently, Br-/Cl- ratios should remain constant during most diagenetic reactions. Nonetheless, Br-/Cl- molar ratios decrease to 0.00127 (~18% less than seawater value) in pore fluids from Site 833 in the Aoba Basin of the New Hebrides convergent margin despite the lack of halite diagenesis and little organic matter. Sediment at this site is largely volcanic ash, which becomes hydrated with depth as it converts to clay and zeolite minerals.

Formation of the Cretaceous Caribbean plateau, including the komatiites of Gorgona, has been linked to the currently active Gal?pagos hotspot. We use Hf-Nd isotopes and trace element data to characterise both the Caribbean plateau and the Gal?pagos hotspot, and to investigate the relationship between them.

For Part 1 (Local Policy Data), variables on local resources include the number of hotlines in a city, a police index of the characteristics of local police department, a prosecution index of prosecution characteristics that provide support to victims of domestic violence, and the number of Aid to Families with Dependent Children benefits (AFDC) adjusted to 1983 dollars. For Part 2 (State Statutes Data), policy variables include five statute provisions and a discretion index which describes the available types of sanction.

It is a continuous study that measures the physical and mental health of Medicare beneficiaries over a two-year period. This data collection contains information compiled from the questions asked of all people and every housing unit enumerated in Census 2000. The questions cover sex, age, race, Hispanic or Latino origin, type of living quarters (household/group quarters), household relationship, housing unit vacancy status, and housing unit tenure (owner/renter).
